Surfing lessons in Moliets

All you need to know!

How to improve your surfing?

There's no secret to improving your surfing! You need to gain experience by spending time in the water, train regularly, take lessons, work on your physical condition and master the basics. It's also essential to choose the right board (i.e. the board suited to your level) and to surf with experienced people. Surf instructors will help you to quickly correct your mistakes and perfect your technique. Don't worry, you can improve while having fun! The pleasure curve is proportional to the progression curve, and you'll be able to explore new waves at every stage. So strap on your wetsuit, grab your board and get in the water for a great time on the waves!

What are the best conditions for taking surf lessons in Moliets?

To get the most out of your surfing experience, it's important to choose the right conditions. The best time to surf is usually early morning or late afternoon, but this isn't always the case. When the wind blows from land to sea (offshore), the waves are also more suitable for surfing. Wave size and shape change with the tide, so it's important to know the tide times to choose the right time to go surfing. Weather plays a big part, but whatever the weather, a good session is always a relaxing and enjoyable way to connect with the ocean!

What equipment do you need to surf?

In order to surf in the best conditions, you first need a surfboard suited to your level and surfing style. Beginners can start with a foam board for greater stability, while experienced surfers often prefer fiberglass boards for enhanced performance. You'll also need a wetsuit to protect you from cold and chafing. Wetsuits are available in a variety of thicknesses and styles to suit all conditions. You'll need a leash to hook the board to your ankle and prevent it from pulling away from your body. But don't worry, our surf instructors will help you find the right equipment!

Where can I take surf lessons in Moliets?

Moliets is a true surfer's paradise, with several renowned surf spots suitable for all levels. Ideal for beginners to learn and improve intermediate skills. You'll enjoy the best surfing conditions on this spot, with westerly swells, easterly winds and low tides rising to mid-tide. At low tide, a magnificent sandbar forms at the mouth of the river. The best seasons for experienced surfers are autumn and winter, when the waves are strong, but spring and summer remain very pleasant surfing seasons, especially for learning to surf.

Know how to read the tides before taking surf lessons

Tides are caused by the gravitational interaction between the Earth, Moon and Sun. This means that tides have a regular cycle, with two high and two low tides per day. To find out when the tide is high or low on your favorite beach, you can consult an online tide table. There, you can observe the signs indicating whether the tide is rising or falling. If the tide is high, you'll notice that the beach is smaller, as seawater covers more sand. If the tide is going out, the beach will get bigger as the water recedes. As well as looking at the beach, you can also observe the height of the waves. Waves will be higher at high tide and lower at low tide.

Take a surfing course in Moliets to improve your skills

A surfing course in Moliets will give you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the world of surfing. You'll spend several days or even weeks training in conditions that are optimal for learning to surf. With a surfing course, you'll benefit from personalized follow-up. Teachers will observe you over several sessions and give you advice tailored to you, your level and your needs. This will help you improve faster and avoid developing bad habits. It's also the best way to meet other enthusiasts and share good times with them.
